In the midst of discussions about international affairs and presidential debates, something refreshing happened this week. My friend Nancy Downing (a USA Today Teacher of the Year) and I were interviewed on the nationally syndicated radio broadcast FamilyLife Today about our book The Grandparent Connection.
I was nervous when we began the interview, not really knowing what to expect. But host Dennis Rainey and co-host Bob Lepine, quickly put Nancy and me at ease. After all, they are grandparents themselves.
With four grandparents in the room, all talking about one of their favorite subjects, it felt like four longtime friends sharing about those they love. We talked about a lot of things like the importance of tradition and memories of our own grandparents. And each of us gave some of our favorite grandparenting tips.
If you missed the interview, you can still catch it online: Grandparent Connection. It’s sure to give you a smile and help you remember what matters most.
